Synopsis

Still without a working line, Oliver implored Mr. Kimball to speak with his mother, the owner of the telephone company. Kimball hesitated, explaining they were currently estranged, but Oliver managed to persuade him to mend fences. Deeply appreciative of the intervention, his mother immediately arranged for a phone installation—perched atop a pole directly outside their bedroom window.
