Synopsis

Chuck is scheduled for cataract surgery, a first in his working life, and must take a day off. Carol, seizing the opportunity to escape her mounting intern responsibilities, volunteers to care for him. Elsewhere, Katie anticipates a quiet day, but with Chuck absent, Greg hesitates to deny the others. Consequently, "The Breakdown" spirals into disarray as Greg is compelled to agree to Portia, Justin, and everyone else's ambitious proposals for the show.
