Synopsis

Detective Ukyo Sugishita solves crimes guided by his own strong sense of justice. He works with a partner in the Special Task Unit. For the first seven seasons, Ukyo’s partner is Kaoru Kameyama: a good-hearted, passionate, direct, and somewhat disorganized detective. Starting in Season 8, Takeru Kanbe replaces Kameyama. Unlike Kameyama, Takeru is tall, composed, arrogant, and self-assured. From Season 11 to 13, Ukyo’s partner is Toru Kai, the son of the Deputy Director-General of the National Police Agency, though he earned his detective position through his own merit. Currently, starting with Season 14, Ukyo’s partner is Wataru Kaburagi, an elite bureaucrat temporarily assigned to the Metropolitan Police Department. As the first partner without prior police experience, he will tackle difficult cases alongside Ukyo.
