Consumed by grief over Ellen’s departure for Paris – a dance scholarship had carried her away – Alex frantically searched for a replacement, only to ultimately understand that healing and new love would require time. He lingered listlessly around the Keaton house, lost in longing for Ellen, until Sharon, a charming waitress, caught his eye. A date with her proved awkward, however, as Alex attempted to mold her into another version of Ellen, an effort that ended poorly.
