The Digital Accident Tactics Squad—DATS—is a specialized government team assembled to manage the ongoing connection between our world and the Digital World. Led by Marcus Damon and comprised of skilled individuals alongside their powerful Digimon partners – Agumon, Thomas Norstein & Gaomon, Yoshino "Yoshi" Fujieda & Lalamon, Keenan Crier & Falcomon – DATS works tirelessly to ensure stability. This season plunges the team into a complex conflict when they discover that Merukimon is actively working against humanity. The truth behind this animosity unravels a dark chapter in history: brilliant scientist Akihiro Kurata once spearheaded an invasion of the Digital World, fueled by a government agenda to eradicate all Digimon due to perceived threats. Kurata’s actions culminated in the unleashing and merging with Belphemon, one of the legendary Seven Great Demon Lords, a battle Marcus ultimately won. However, Kurata's final act – detonating a device intended to fuse our world with the Digital World – nearly triggered catastrophic consequences. Only BanchoLeomon’s intervention prevented total collision, but he charged Marcus with stopping King Drasil (Yggdrasil), the Digital World’s supreme ruler who believes humanity must be eliminated to safeguard his realm. Marcus's personal journey takes a shocking turn when he learns his own father, Spencer, has been trapped within the Digital World for a decade – possessed by Drasil and with his soul safeguarded by BanchoLeomon. The confrontation with Drasil is not just about saving the Digital World; it’s about rescuing his father. Following Drasil's defeat, Spencer's soul is finally reunited with his body. With the balance restored between both worlds, the Digimon partners return to their own dimension.
