Synopsis

Centuries from now, Earth is a wasteland, and humanity survives inside Plantation, a massive, mobile city. Inside this fortified haven, known as Mistilteinn, a new generation of pilots is trained. They've only ever known life within the city walls, their sole purpose: to pilot giant robotic machines called Franxx in a constant war against colossal creatures known as Kyouryuu. For these pilots, piloting a Franxx *is* life. Hiro, once considered a prodigy, is now struggling to live up to expectations as his skills fade. He faces a bleak future if he can't pilot. Then, Hiro meets Zero Two, a mysterious girl marked by two horns – making her an outcast. She might be humanity’s hope, or its destruction. As they undertake a perilous mission together, this unlikely pair may uncover the key to a new future in a ruined world.
