Synopsis

“I confess to you,” Elizabeth said to Barnabas, a tremor in her voice, “a dreadful fear – that I might be buried alive.” Barnabas, hearing this, hastened to the crypt and, with a desperate effort, rescued Julia from Tom’s grasp. Having discovered Tom's secret refuge, Barnabas departed, his resolve hardening with the purpose of bringing him to account.
