Synopsis

In Julia’s laboratory, Barnabas receives a treatment. The effect is immediate; he feels an exhilarating lightness, as if fresh vitality courses through his veins. He declares he intends to visit Widow’s Hill with Victoria the following day, eager to witness his first sunrise since 1795. Julia cautions him against such risks, fearing they might accelerate his decline. Meanwhile, at Collinwood, Carolyn implores Victoria to moderate her use of the telephone, lamenting her constant preoccupation.
