Synopsis

A bitterness had settled upon Sam, and he directed its sharp edge at Laura, holding her responsible for the string of recent misfortunes. He shared his anxieties about her with Dr. Guthrie, voicing fears that troubled him deeply. The doctor, in turn, extended an invitation to Laura: he wished for her to participate in the upcoming séance.
