Synopsis

The return of Barnabas filled Lamar with a dread that solidified into resolve: he would not testify against Quentin in the witchcraft trial. During a break in the proceedings, Barnabas spoke to Lamar with unsettling calm, informing him of his intention to kill him. The true horror, however, lay in Barnabas’s refusal to specify when or where this would occur, amplifying Lamar's fear with the vagueness of impending doom.
