The amount of singing felt excessive; it came across like a full-blown musical production.

I didn't expect it to be as enjoyable as it turned out to be. I liked it quite a bit. The music is excellent; certain songs are genuinely amusing, and the performers are all very good—Josh Gad, Titus Burgess, and Stanley Tucci stand out in particular. Central Park proved to be a clever, delightful, and funny animated series. Apple TV could potentially become a competitor for Netflix.
