Synopsis

The arrival of Chummy’s domineering mother brought with it a swift and unmistakable disapproval of Peter Noakes. Yet Chummy, with a quiet strength, asserted her independence, determined to marry as she wished, defying her mother's expectations at every turn. Meanwhile, in a more bewildering turn of events, the increasingly frail Sister Monica Joan found herself arrested for shoplifting.
