Synopsis

Caplan and Walter find themselves back in Paris, drawn there by a grim necessity. Caplan is compelled to orchestrate the escape of a gangster, a move dictated by blackmail. This man possesses information that could destroy Caplan's career, should he choose to inform Brabant, the relentless Superintendent of police who is determined to dismantle the SDPJ and bring Caplan low. Meanwhile, Georges Mandeville is also in Paris, driven by a singular, urgent need: to acquire a great deal of money.
