Synopsis

In this exploration of northern Portugal, Anthony Bourdain places food at the heart of the experience, accompanied by local companions including Jose Meirelles, his former colleague from Les Halles. The journey features a rich dinner of pig tripe at A Cozinha do Martinho, a home-cooked meal of sea lamprey, and a visit to Café O Afonso for their signature Francesinha sandwich. The trip concludes with a traditional food festival in the rolling countryside of the Douro Valley.
