Synopsis

Bourdain ventured beyond familiar culinary landscapes, charting the food and history of Mississippi. His journey led him to the Big Apple Inn in downtown Jackson, a place famed for its "Pig Ear Sandwich" and significant role as a Civil Rights meeting point. From there, he traveled into the Mississippi Delta, seeking out Po' Monkey's Social Club, a juke joint housed within the walls of an old sharecropper's dwelling.
