Synopsis

Implemented in 1975 and still in use, the voting system assigned points from national juries to the top ten songs. Each jury awarded twelve points to its favorite, ten to the second, eight to the third, and so on, down to one point for the tenth-placed entry. Nineteen countries participated, a record for the competition. France and Malta returned to the event, while Turkey made its first appearance, and Greece withdrew.
