Synopsis

In 1972, the BBC took on the responsibility of hosting the Eurovision Song Contest, selecting a location beyond London's confines for the event's first time. The broadcast reached Asia for the first time, bringing the show to audiences in Japan, Taiwan, the Philippines, Hong Kong, and Thailand. It was also the year that a video wall debuted, displaying song titles and artist names.
