Synopsis

The 1967 Eurovision Song Contest was held in the Großer Festsaal der Wiener Hofburg in Vienna. The field of competitors had dwindled to seventeen, following Denmark's withdrawal, a decision that kept them from returning until 1978. The event possessed a distinctly glamorous atmosphere; the stage featured three revolving mirrors and a central staircase entrance. A change had also been implemented in the jury system, requiring that at least half of each national jury be under the age of thirty.
