A police officer, Lou Garou (Leo Fafard), working in a Midwestern town, looks into secretive occult gatherings happening out in the nearby woods, only to discover he possesses the power to transform into a ferocious WolfCop. “WolfCop” (2014) presents an inventive werewolf narrative drawing on earlier films like “Howling: Your Sister is a Werewolf,” “Teen Wolf,” and “Big Bad Wolf.” It’s noticeably oddball, incorporating dark humor, graphic violence, clever moments, and content geared toward adults. A subsequent film called “The Hunting,” starring Joelle Westwood and Peyton Hillis, shares similarities in concept but adopts a more somber, deliberate pace. Sarah Lind, with her brown hair, is visually striking, though Amy Matysio as Sergeant Tina emerges as the most memorable of the female performers. The music was created by Shooting Guns & Toby Bond, accompanied by a soundtrack including seven songs from four different bands or artists, two of which were performed by Lawrence Gowan of Styx.
