The premise itself isn’t groundbreaking, but the quality of the writing combined with the performers’ efforts creates a genuine sense of investment in what the characters are going through. However, the film doesn’t quite live up to its potential; it feels abruptly curtailed, losing momentum during the final moments. This abrupt ending is my main issue and prevents me from awarding a better score.

The performances from Edgerton, Morrison, and Hardy are commendable, however Nolte’s portrayal stands out as truly exceptional. Beyond that, the film provides a genuinely enjoyable experience; nevertheless, the narrative feels familiar and the resolution falls short of being effective.
