I really don't understand the negative reaction to this movie! While it felt like Alan Alda’s character revealed his nature prematurely, everything else seemed designed as a tribute to those classic comedies from the eighties and nineties. Ben Stiller and Eddie Murphy both gave excellent performances. This is precisely the sort of film I would choose for Thanksgiving; it feels like a special occasion movie.

This is a truly wonderful film. I realize that others might describe it as nonsensical or lacking substance, but frankly, I enjoyed it immensely—so much so that I’ve viewed it on seven separate occasions. It really does need to be experienced.
