Many people familiar with Latin American culture have encountered those typical Mexican soap operas—stories full of unbelievable events and sad situations. They can be amusing to watch if you’re bored and want to laugh, but it's disappointing when you approach an old Mexican Gothic horror film hoping for something special only to find similarities to those silly soaps.
