It’s a perfectly acceptable Christmas movie. The film *The Santa Clause* gets off to a rather good start; Tim Allen, as Scott, displays some sharp and funny humor. I thought the initial scenes were really the strongest part of the whole thing, though the remaining 97 minutes are agreeable enough. Allen is definitely the most memorable aspect of the movie—the rest of the cast doesn't quite measure up. Eric Lloyd does a passable job playing Scott’s son, Charlie. The Christmas music is nice to listen to, and the sets look pretty good; the special effects aren’t amazing, but they get the job done. There are certainly more impressive holiday films available, but this one provides enough to keep you amused.
