This is a really good sports movie focusing on Jim Morris’s journey. I enjoyed it immensely; the two hours and seven minutes went by incredibly fast. It presents what happened in Morris’s actual baseball career—though, undoubtedly with some added dramatic flair—in a wonderful fashion. The characters are well-developed from the start, and I became completely drawn into Morris's story by the end. Dennis Quaid delivers an outstanding performance as him; it’s easily the best work I’ve seen from Quaid up to this point. I really connected with his character’s feelings throughout. The movie does a wonderful job of making you care about not just Morris, but also his high school baseball team. The casting for that group was excellent—they felt like genuine teammates; Chad Lindberg, who appeared in *'The Fast and the Furious'*, is among them. Even beyond Quaid and Lindberg and the others, there’s Morris’s family to root for as well. There are a lot of characters you can become invested in, and I found myself interested in each one. It's excellent; I definitely suggest watching *'The Rookie'*.
