It's a really good animated fantasy film focusing on "Jack Skellington," who rules Halloween Town. Feeling somewhat down after his annual holiday, he discovers Christmas Town and meets Santa Claus as he prepares to spread cheer. "Jack" then dispatches some of his not-so-bright helpers to capture Santa, assumes the role himself, and attempts to deliver Christmas presents that are… quite unusual. Will Santa be freed before it’s too late? The animation is beautifully detailed, dark, and fun, featuring a host of characters like a crazy scientist, a mummy, a two-faced mayor, plus witches and demons. Tim Burton's imaginative vision shines through once again, eliciting smiles, and with a fantastic score (and vocals) from Danny Elfman, we get a very entertaining Christmas story with an unexpected element. It’s notable that recently in theaters it didn’t quite capture the attention of younger viewers, which is disappointing. Maybe time has passed and now it's better suited for grown-ups?
