The film seems to believe itself more ingenious than it actually is. The storyline presents a distinctive concept and the central antagonist’s reasons are fresh, but the movie undermines its own potential by assuming viewers lack intelligence. To illustrate this point—and I will offer a minor spoiler here, so those still considering seeing it might want to skip ahead—there's a scene where a character loses a finger. The reason for this is tied to his earlier statement that he would 'handle' a problem; one of the antagonists then asks which hand he’d use. When he doesn't answer, another character helpfully specifies ‘left hand, ring finger,’ and that digit is subsequently removed. On the surface, it seems amusing—a play on words with "handle" and "hand"—but closer examination reveals a significant flaw: the villains couldn't possibly have known the character would use that particular word. It suggests their plan involved removing his finger regardless, or perhaps they had previously discussed anticipating someone using the term “handle” to justify a targeted amputation. I’m unsure, and some may accuse me of being overly meticulous, but this movie was riddled with such instances. They really broke my immersion. 3/10; I can't suggest it.
