It feels like my final breaking point with IMDb has arrived; apparently, disliking this film results in negative reviews being deleted. Essentially, this is a movie about characters who are overly concerned with appearances, aimed at an audience that appreciates such things, and those same characters meet violent ends so the remaining ones can feel intellectually superior. Right from the beginning, the trajectory of the story is predictable—it follows a familiar pattern seen in countless stories set on isolated islands. A particular element, “they eat the diners,” was altered because one of the couples were portrayed as frequent patrons. The narrative’s progression is fairly straightforward, dictated by the zealous behavior of the cooks' group. There wasn't any need to try and figure anything out; it was obvious from the beginning which character would survive, thanks to a broadcast that literally pointed them out with an arrow. However, in today's cinematic landscape, subtlety seems to be nonexistent.
