Synopsis

In a vibrant red-light district, Ma Sha has lived his life as a watchful observer. After a tragic accident involving a customer, he is wrongly convicted of manslaughter and imprisoned. He escapes but is soon recaptured and sent to a remote penal institution on Orchid Island. There, Ma reconnects with a former classmate who is now a prison officer. This reunion offers him a chance at redemption and prompts him to confront his past. He begins writing about his experiences, eventually publishing a collection of narratives detailing his hardships and strength. The film explores themes of forgiveness, self-examination, and personal transformation as Ma Sha moves away from his troubled history and finds a new direction.
