Denzel Washington portrays "McCall," a man attempting to escape a troubled past by living quietly and working at a hardware store. His calm life is disrupted when a coworker, "Teri" (Chloë Grace Moretz), is injured in an incident involving a shadowy figure, prompting him to seek retribution. This pursuit draws the attention of “Teddy” (Martin Csokas), who appears to have considerable resources and poses a significant challenge for "McCall," leading to violent confrontations as they engage in a dangerous game of pursuit. The suspense isn't particularly high; the outcome feels predetermined. However, Washington and Csokas generate a palpable sense of threat with the help of dark visuals and relentless violence.
