Denzel Washington really carries this movie. I didn’t find much particularly remarkable about *'The Equalizer'*, but I enjoyed watching it anyway because Denzel Washington delivers another excellent performance. It was a strong turn for him, which isn’t unexpected since he is—along with Leonardo DiCaprio—my favorite actor. Aside from that, the film feels like a fairly typical revenge action movie; it might be a bit drawn out and has some support characters who are not particularly memorable, especially the rather unremarkable antagonists. The soundtrack is also fairly ordinary, although it does become better as the story progresses, culminating in the final score and end credits music. Ultimately, it’s worth seeing because of Denzel. I'm looking forward to the next installment, with the hope that it will be more consistently good—I suppose I’ll find out soon enough!
