Synopsis

During the Italian Renaissance, this film explores the complicated relationship between Pope Julius II and Michelangelo, a renowned artist. The powerful Pope commissions Michelangelo to sculpt forty statues for his tomb, but then asks him to paint a mural in the Sistine Chapel instead.
