David Howard Thornton returns as Art the Clown in Damien Leone's Terrifier 2. After being brought back to life, Art focuses his attention on a brother and sister during Halloween festivities. I was really looking forward to seeing this film! What works well: The violence is extremely graphic and bloody—even more so than in the initial installment. I believe there's a stronger narrative here compared to the first Terrifier, with greater depth given to the brother and sister characters. Things that didn’t work as well: At 2 hours and 18 minutes, I feel the runtime is excessive; the pacing felt sluggish in the middle section and could have been trimmed down. I was hoping to learn more about Art the Clown's history, but the focus remained primarily on the brother and sister instead. Does Terrifier 2 advance the Terrifier series? Absolutely. If you liked the first movie, you’ll want to see this one. Those who were unsure about the original should give this a try. And if blood and gore aren't your thing, it's best to skip it altogether.
