I viewed this film when it was initially released. I found it to be quite impressive, offering a fresh perspective on the superhero beginnings narrative, combined with a story about a young Black man overcoming difficult circumstances. The plot lost some believability as it progressed, but the performances and the guidelines set up earlier in the movie helped compensate for that. The cast delivered strong performances across the board, and the film itself was visually appealing.
