It’s been six years since "Ralph" and "Vanellope" defeated the "Candy King," and she finds herself feeling bored and wanting more from their routine existence within the arcade. Ralph believes connecting her game, "Sugar Rush," to the internet will liven things up, but instead they face a damaged steering wheel and a difficult repair situation threatening to shut down the game entirely. Their journey takes them into the world of the web itself, where they meet “netizens” and "Yesss"—a character representing peak online trends. My main issue was with the animation style; it felt flat and relied on simple CGI backgrounds for what became a very talkative adventure that brought to mind "Tron," but with far too much dialogue. While there are moments that offer insight into the intricacies of how the internet works, these feel disconnected from a rather thin plot featuring characters who seem like disposable playthings. The initial film wasn’t exactly my favorite, but this one is noticeably worse and feels unoriginal.
