It’s shockingly overhyped. A significant portion of the film feels derivative, with many scenes appearing to be lifted from Vijay's 1999 movie, *Minsaara Kannan* [IMDB: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7562630/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_2]. (It’s possible this itself is a copy of another film, though.) The use of “Morse code” was handled far more effectively in Ajith's 2017 movie, *Vivegam* [IMDB:https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6878378/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0] [Letterboxd: https://letterboxd.com/film/vivegam/] I honestly can’t grasp what makes this film so exceptional that it has received such high praise. It doesn't even reach 10% of the quality found in other Tamil films of a similar caliber. Those who are celebrating this movie should probably broaden their horizons and start watching more Tamil cinema; there are countless hidden treasures out there. There’s simply nothing remarkable about it that distinguishes it from anything else. I find it hard to believe that something so ordinary has gotten this much attention. I wonder where these kinds of trends originate?
