It functions reasonably well as a contemporary film noir, largely due to the performances of the actors, particularly Woody Harrelson and Elisabeth Shue. My prior viewing of this movie, some time back, didn't really change how I feel about it. It earns a rating of **3.25/5**.

I really enjoyed this film; there’s not much to dislike. The performances from Woody Harrelson, Elisabeth Shue, Gina Gershon, and Chloë Sevigny were all quite strong. It presented an engaging narrative with some unexpected turns and a little bit of humor sprinkled throughout. There was one particular moment between Harrelson and Shue in the bungalow that was undeniably steamy. I’d rate it an 8 out of 10.
