Synopsis

This is the true story of Louisa Ighilahriz, a key figure in the Algerian independence movement. A young student, she joined the FLN at 20 right before the Battle of Algiers in late 1956, using the name Lila. She participated in student strikes and later joined the maquis after being hunted by French authorities. During the Battle of Algiers, she worked with the FLN's support network, transporting supplies. Seriously wounded in an ambush in 1957, alongside her leader Saïd Bakel, she was hospitalized and then imprisoned, enduring severe torture. Rescued by a mysterious individual, Louisa spent forty years searching for him to express her gratitude. Her story is a powerful and deeply human portrayal of the difficult Franco-Algerian history.
