Synopsis

Oar and Miho, who grew up in a coastal town, are childhood friends whose parents are close. Oar leaves for Tokyo to pursue training for a promising future after being put in charge of the local canning factory. On their last night together before he departs, Oar and Miho share a passionate moment. The following morning, they discuss their hopes for the future while walking on the beach, promising to speak daily. However, Oar struggles with his new job and unfamiliar social dynamics, while Miho faces the burden of caring for her ailing father, eventually unable to maintain their daily calls. Oar is later unfairly dismissed from his job after witnessing his boss's affair and being falsely accused of embezzlement. Unable to clear his name and unable to return home, Oar and Miho drift apart, becoming estranged from each other.
