Synopsis

In March 2011, a 9.0 magnitude earthquake and tsunami devastated Japan's Tohoku coastal region. *PRAY FOR JAPAN* documents the aftermath in Ishinomaki, Miyagi – the largest coastal city in Tohoku, home to over 160,000 people. American filmmaker Stu Levy, volunteering in the region, spent six weeks filming the disaster, capturing over 50 hours of footage. The film explores the tragedy through four perspectives: schools, shelters, families, and volunteers. It features individuals who faced immense challenges and persevered.
