Synopsis

A few years ago, during a period of global economic prosperity, bankers and stockbrokers believed prosperity would continue indefinitely. The subsequent collapse of the banking system, followed by conflict and recession, was inevitable. Iceland experienced this rise and fall more acutely than any other nation. Amidst the ensuing chaos, a new political landscape emerged, leading to an election of new leaders. For a population deeply disillusioned by the drastic changes in their lives, a solution was desperately needed. This context gave rise to "The Best Party," initially conceived as a satirical idea by Jon Gnarr, Iceland's most cynical and controversial comedian. The party aimed to ridicule the established political parties, exposing their perceived arrogance and hypocrisy. By election day, something extraordinary was about to occur.
