Like countless comedies from the early 2000s, **_Bromates_** attempts to emulate the style of Apatow films, though it manages to elicit some genuine laughs, largely thanks to Lil Rel’s performance. These include a scene referencing Whitney Houston and another featuring a dog eating a rubber toy—both occurring within the initial forty minutes.
