Synopsis

Broadway: Beyond the Golden Age looks at Broadway from 1959 to the early 1980s, told by Broadway stars who experienced it firsthand. This documentary offers a personal archive of backstage stories and memories. It’s a sequel to Rick McKay’s 2003 film, continuing the story into the '60s and '70s and highlighting classic shows like Once Upon a Mattress, Bye Bye Birdie, Barefoot in the Park, Pippin, A Chorus Line, Ain’t Misbehavin’, Chicago, and 42nd Street. Featuring Alec Baldwin, Carol Burnett, Glenn Close, André De Shields, Jane Fonda, Robert Goulet, Liza Minnelli, Chita Rivera, Dick Van Dyke, Ben Vereen, and many others, the film also includes rare photos and previously unseen footage from both performances and behind the scenes.
