This theatrical adaptation of the second movement of "Os Sertões" explores the transformation of ordinary people into figures of both heroism and rebellion as they journey to war. It centers on Antônio Conselheiro, a common man who evolves into an unconventional leader, inspiring a large following of rural residents from Bahia. Together, they build a thriving community – once the second-largest city in Bahia – through collective effort, constructing essential structures like dams, churches, and cemeteries. Initially, efforts were made to peacefully dissolve the community. However, their refusal to submit to the established religious order led to condemnation by a Capuchin Friar. As a result, the community prepares for conflict.
