Synopsis

African American architect Paul R. Williams, known as the "Architect to the Stars," had an extraordinary career. Orphaned young, Williams rose to design mansions for Hollywood's elite and millionaires in Southern California. For five decades, starting in the 1920s, he was a leading architect nationwide, working with clients like Frank Sinatra, Cary Grant, and Lucille Ball. He designed iconic landmarks such as the Beverly Hills Hotel, the original MCA Headquarters, and LAX Airport.
