Synopsis

Alice, a recent graduate stuck in a dead-end job, is saving for a trip abroad, but family issues keep her grounded. As she awaits her departure, Alice guides us through the lives of her diverse circle: her flatmates, her boyfriend’s band, her family, and a collection of seemingly random people. The stories include Julian making a deal with a mysterious figure, Zoe fighting against corporate power with subversive messaging, Greg constructing an explosive device, Josie losing her job, and Petulia, a teenage goth, forming an unusual bond with something connected to Julian. All this unfolds against a backdrop of bizarre global events – a fracturing sky, walking whales, and a massive tidal wave.
