Synopsis

"A Flower in the Mouth" is a film presented in two parts, exploring the theme of limited time and how to make the most of the days left. The first part, shot like a documentary, takes place in the world's largest flower market, following millions of bouquets as they move through a vast, refrigerated warehouse on their way to auction – a process that is both beautiful and unsettling. The film then shifts to a fictional story inspired by a Pirandello play. A man with a flower-shaped tumor on his lip speaks to a stranger in a late-night café. Their ordinary conversation transforms into a deep reflection as the man, aware of his impending death, tries to connect with life by carefully observing every detail, as if trying to bridge the distance between himself and the world.
