Synopsis

This is Denmark, home to the country’s best-selling car and homes that have doubled in value in the last three years. The film follows Max Kestner as he explores everyday life in Denmark – from a magazine editorial meeting to an elementary school dictation, a kindergarten sing-along, a family planning their vacation, a meeting with politician Pia Kjærsgaard, and a real estate agent standing before a newly sold house, ending with a view of the Danish landscape from above. These ordinary moments reveal universal stories about humanity, presented in a contemporary way. The film uses a combination of studio recordings and locations throughout Denmark, shifting quickly between scenes from close-up to wide shots, using coordinates and a consistent color palette. Pseudo-scientific sequences are employed to isolate and compare people and objects.
