Synopsis

Six high school tennis club members, including railroad investigator Noriko Hanamura, are on a day trip to Kawaguchi Lake. One of them, Ayako Hirayama, fails to meet the group despite the agreed-upon time. Yumi Tachiki, who organized the trip, tries to reach Ayako but receives no response. Assuming she'll join them later, Noriko and the others proceed to their destination, repeatedly calling Ayako without success. After arriving at Tenjozan Park by ropeway, Yumi receives an urgent work request, so Noriko and the others return to Tokyo, leaving Yumi behind. They have no further contact with Ayako that day. That night, Noriko is informed by the police that Yumi's body has been found stabbed in Tenjozan Park. A ropeway employee reports seeing a mysterious woman in a hat and mask following Yumi down the mountain trail.
