Even with its length and some unnecessary tangents, News deserves more recognition as an investigative thriller. Suresh Gopi looks quite good here, and it strikes me as one of the movies that came before he became widely known for playing tough police characters. It's a reasonably engaging mystery if you can overlook the predictable and uninspired ending.
