Synopsis

Veteran social worker Mr. Lee, weary of intractable problems, plans to retire and pass his responsibilities to a new colleague, Candy. However, due to staff shortages, he's burdened with several challenging cases before his departure: Ha, a mildly retarded individual with Down syndrome; Ming, who suffers from schizophrenia; Chung, with severe autism; and Keung, with hyperactivity disorder. As Lee and Candy navigate these difficult situations, Mrs. Lee, his wife and a sufferer of severe mood disorder, takes her own life. Devastated, Lee withdraws and considers abandoning his work. Two preachers and two radio personalities become indirectly involved in the cases, each with varying degrees of commitment and expectations. They hope to foster empathy for frontline social workers and encourage self-reflection in those they assist.
